HISTORICAL NETWORK STRUCTURES OF CREATIVE SUCCESS
During my NIAS fellowship months I was able to complete not only the analysis but also the writing for the video game component of my major project on network sources of success among creative teams. Related to this, I wrote a major paper, “Game Changer: Structural Folds with Cognitive Distance in Video Game Development,” submitted to the American Journal of Sociology, the leading journal in the discipline. Data collection for the jazz musician component is almost completed. I made minor revisions and prepared the Preface and Acknowledgments for my book, This Place, These People: Life and Shadow on the Great Plains, to be published by Columbia University Press in October 2013. I also completed extensive revisions for a new paper, “Peripheral Vision in Financial Markets,” submitted to Administrative Science Quaterly, the leading journal in organization studies.
