APPROACHING THEATRE AUDIENCES
When I arrived at NIAS in September 2005 my research on ‘Viewing Theatre Audiences’ was in the phase of investigating the collected materials, elaborating the main hypothesis, revising the already written text and developing it further. During my stay I was able to continue this work.
My initial schedule varied between a ‘program maximum’ – finishing and editing the complete book and ‘program minimum’ – collecting all the materials. I think I have fulfilled my ‘program medium’, insofar as I was able to collect a lot of materials and write new sections of text and edited and revise some I had already written.
I find NIAS contribution to my research enormous. The support of the staff members is incredible. Also I would like to acknowledge the other NIAS fellows whose lectures, seminars and discussions were extremely helpful. I applied some of their ideas and suggestions to my work.
