Significant advance was made in the writing up of a monograph on lower-class families in Jerusalem. This is a study of the development of The Culture of Memory: Death and Funeral in the Israeli Kibbutz, and focuses in particular on innovation in funerals and other forms of memorialization in this new and secular form of institution.
