Fellow (1 September 1993 – 30 June 1994)
While at NIAS in the spring of 1994, I completed the first draft of a book on the family in Classical and Hellenistic Greece. This book will be published by Oxford University Press. At NIAS I wrote one more chapter, a long introduction, and polished and added to the chapters that already existed. I also wrote two lectures based on the parts of the book I had just written, and delivered these lectures at Nijmegen, Utrecht, and Leiden.
