P.R.I.M.E. Finance: At the Crossroads of Contracts, Courts and Regulation
Research Question
How can P.R.I.M.E. Finance extend its dispute resolution and education focus to include regulatory and supervisory bodies that play an increasingly important role in the global financial markets?
Project Description
P.R.I.M.E. Finance established itself as a trusted source of financial market expertise for courts and financial market participants. It is also creating a forum for dispute resolution involving complex financial instruments.
After the financial crisis, regulatory and supervisory bodies are playing an increasingly prominent role in overseeing how contracts are formed, how risks are managed and what responsibilities contracting parties have to each other. As the prominence of these bodies grows, P.R.I.M.E. Finance must consider how it can extend its focus to become a resource to those bodies as they develop and enforce their rule sets. My research will identify areas of potential interaction and cooperation. I plan to utilize regulatory materials and conversations with global regulators and other P.R.I.M.E. Finance experts in my research.
