Cornelis de Pater, born in Boskoop, the Netherlands, in 1943. Ph.D. from Utrecht University. Assistant Professor of History of the Natural Sciences at Utrecht University.

During my stay at NIAS I worked on a book on Willem Jacob ‘s Gravesande (1688-1762), professor at the University of Leiden from 1717 until his death in 1742.
