In my capacity as a member of the “Orality and Literacy” theme group I have come to some new understandings of relationships between words and music, and I have perceived a variety of fresh links and contrasts between ritual and drama. This has resulted in my being able to complete three chapters of my book about the staging of drama within the medieval church (c.960 – 1600 A.D.).
