During my year at NIAS I have worked on my manuscript entitled When Adolescence came to Age: 1880-1925. The first half of this study will focus on the literary representations of adolescence in the decades around the turn of the century, with special attention to the narrative forms and perspectives. The second half will show how the literary thematization is intimately linked up with larger social preoccupations.
