In my study ‘Towards a Poetics of Unfinished Fictions’, I examine the extent to which modern narratological theory requires the assumption of closure in order to make statements about the structure or significance of works of fiction. During my six months stay at NIAS I worked on draft chapters on Dickens and Conrad.
