ELECTORAL CONTESTATION OVER EUROPEAN ISSUES: THE PARTY-MEDIA-VOTER CYCLE

While at NIAS, I worked mainly on the topic “Electoral Contestation over European Issues: The Party-Media-Voter Cycle” within the theme group “European Elections, Political Cynicism, and the Media”, and on the book project “The Austrian Voter”. Both research projects analysed electoral behaviour in different settings taking individual and contextual factors into account. I also worked on methodological papers focusing on survey research in political science. Three papers are submitted for review, four additional papers and the book are in a draft status. My fellowship broadened both my theoretical and methodological repertoire in my research field due to the input of my theme group members and the other disciplines. Moreover, due to the exchange between different disciplines and between scholars at different stages of their careers new research ideas and projects could be developed and will be pursued in the future.
