THE TRANSFER OF DUTCH MARITIME TECHNOLOGIES INTO THE RUSSIAN SYSTEM OF MARINE RESOURCE EXPLOITATION IN THE LATE 17TH AND 18TH CENTURIES

My three months’ stay at NIAS was very fruitful and productive. My research plans for this period included:

To collect information on the Dutch sources concerning the transfer of Dutch maritime technologies to Russia.

To create the network of contacts with the Dutch colleagues including NIAS Fellows.

To complete the introductory chapter for my planned book.

To complete several drafts using the possibilities provided by NIAS and unavailable in Russia.

To present basic ideas of my research to an international audience and get feedback.

This program was successfully completed.

During my stay at NIAS I organised the workshop “Maritime Connections and Technological Transfers between Russia and the Netherlands in the 17th and 18th cc.” (28 March 2012).
