During my one-semester stay at NIAS I completed a manuscript for a catalogue on Netherlandish Paintings from the National Gallery in Prague. Our collection contains approximately 100 Netherlandish paintings from the period 1480-1600. The catalogue will give information about the painter and technical data on each painting, provenance and preserved sources. It will contain a brief description on iconography and style, and a list of bibliographical references will be included as well.
The initial research on the paintings themselves, was conducted at the National Gallery in Prague. However, all subsequent work was done at NIAS, where I finished writing the catalogue. I was happy to make use of the NIAS library in order to get access to scholarly publications; I welcomed very much the possibility of working at the Rijksbureau voor Kunsthistorische Documentatie (RKD) in The Hague and I also took the opportunity to exploit the scholarly environment of NIAS where I discussed many problems with other fellows
