Bruce Kapferer, born in Sydney, Australia, in 1940. Ph.D. from the University of Manchester. Professor of Anthropology at University College London.

Fellow (1 September 1991 – 30 June 1992)

During this year I was a member of the Orality theme group which proved very productive. During this fellowship I completed a book (Sorcery and Society) and a number of articles. A further manuscript is well into preparation and I am participating in a joint editorship with Professor David Apter.
