Nico Kana, born in Payeni, East Sumba, Indonesia, in 1937. Ph.D. from the University of Indonesia, Jakarta. Associate Professor of Development Studies at Satya Wacana Christian University, Salatiga.

While at NIAS I completed a draft of a small book on the agro-economic and cultural processes of the development in NTT since the 1960’s until the 1980’s. I also completed the analysis of materials collected in the field on an evaluation of community development work in Savu.
