Eva Hajičová, born in Prague, Czech Republic, in 1935. Ph.D. from Charles University, Prague. Associate Professor of Mathematical Linguistics at Charles University, Prague.
Fellow (1 February 1989 – 30 June 1990)
I engaged in five main projects during my six-month period at the NIAS. One involved the continuation of my on-going research on discourse. The second project represented an analysis of the Prague School studies in syntax and semantics. Next two projects allowed me to deepen my former research in linguistics: namely the study of grammar within an automatic language processing framework. Finally, a substantial amount of work was done on preparation of a book entitled Text and Inference Based Answering of Questions.
