During the first half of my stay at NIAS, I carried out theoretical research in speech act theory and conversation analysis, focusing on the adequacy of speech act theory as an instrument for the analysis and explanation of ordinary conversation. During the second half of my stay, I carried out theoretical research in argumentation theory and problem-solving.
