During my stay at NIAS I completed the major portion of a book manuscript on international migration, which was my primary goal for this year. I developed a migration systems model that is the core theoretical contribution of the book, designed and carried out a series of empirical analyses that follow from the model, and interpreted the results with reference both to scientific understanding of international migration processes and to public policy concerns.
