At NIAS I devoted most of my attention to the writing of a book on Shakespeare with the provisional title Submerged Metaphors in Some of Shakespeare’s Works: A Study in Reconstructed Meaning. Also, editorial work was done on a book on literary translation that was published in June 1990 under the title of Something Understood: Studies in Anglo-Dutch Translation.
