Bob van den Boogert, born in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, in 1958. M.A. from the University of Amsterdam. Researcher of Art History at the University of Amsterdam. († 2015)

Junior Fellow (1 February 1995 – 30 June 1995)

I planned to finish my Ph.D. dissertation during my three months stay at NIAS as a Guest of the Rector (provisional title of the book: “A Flemish Raphael at the Hapsburg court – Michiel Coxcie and the rise of classicism in Netherlandish art”). This plan has proved to be a little too ambitious; it will take me at least another couple of months. Nevertheless, my stay at NIAS was very fruitful. Large parts of the book had already been written, but needed revision towards a more coherent ensemble. Consequently, I have been reviewing my texts, rewriting parts of them and adding corrections. I also wrote the introduction. Finally, I had the opportunity to go through a lot of recent literature, which I had not managed to do during the past year. My work has profited greatly from the stimulating contacts with other researchers at NIAS, as well as from the excellent facilities and the serene atmosphere
