During my time at the NIAS, I researched for a study on the development of literacy in Germany, focusing on the textual, literacy changes occasioned by developing literacy by an emphasis on changes in methods of broader social manipulation and the role of the institutionalization of writing. I have also worked on a second, revised edition of the Dictionary of Gestures that is to appear in about three years.
