About the Seminar
This seminar investigates the role played by trade unions in the dynamics of welfare markets in a continental European welfare state. To what extent have unions been able to influence policy choices? And how has the emergence of welfare markets affected trade unions’ capacities and strategies to represent workers? The empirical focus is on marketization in three Dutch social care sectors: home care, childcare and household services.
